WordPress have released version 4.7.5 which is a security release and addresses six known issue within WordPress core. That being said there is precedent back in January where a major vulnerability was delaying in it's announcement due to it's severity. We have run through the updates for all of our website maintenance customers and as this is a minor release WordPress, as standard, should have automatically updated.

If you haven't received a notification from your site to say that this has been done, now is the time to log into your dashboard and check. Once logged in just visit "Updates" from the left hand menu and follow the prompts.

If you are worried about backing up before implementing the update, on our hosting platform you can rest assured that we backup every night, on other platforms just log into your hosting control panel and make sure it is done manually.
