How do I setup an Out of Office autoresponder in Cpanel? Print


If you are using either our webmail service or Outlook to connect to your mailbox via IMAP, when you want to setup an Out of Office / Autoresponder this will need to be done on the server; To create an Autoresponder, perform the following steps:

As a cPanel/Webmail user

  1. Login to your Webmail interface at example.com/webmail or example.com:2082 (switch example.com for your actual domain name)
  2. From the user@example.com menu at the top right corner of the interface, select Autoresponders.
  3. Click Add Autoresponder.
  4. Choose the character set in which to send the email from the options in the Character Set text box. (As a default use "utf-8")
  5. Enter the interval, in hours, for the autoresponder to wait between responses to the same email address.
  6. Enter your name in the From text box.
  7. Enter the message's subject in the Subject text box.
  8. If you wish for the email to display HTML code, select the HTML checkbox.
  9. Provide a body for your message, for example:
    I am out of the office until July 2nd. You can reach me on my cell phone in case of emergencies.
  10. Select a start time.
  11. Select a stop time.
  12. Click Create/Modify to save the autoresponder.

As a cPanel/Webmail Administrator

  1. Login to your account and navigate to Services => My Services and select your domain from the list
  2. Now that you are managing the package, scrolling to the bottom of this page you will see a quicklink to open the Autoresponder interface in cPanel
  3. Click Add Autoresponder.
  4. Choose the character set in which to send the email from the options in the Character Set text box. (As a default use "utf-8")
  5. Enter the interval, in hours, for the autoresponder to wait between responses to the same email address.
  6. Enter the email address you would like the autoresponder / Out of Office set.
  7. Enter your name in the From text box.
  8. Enter the message's subject in the Subject text box.
  9. If you wish for the email to display HTML code, select the HTML checkbox.
  10. Provide a body for your message, for example:
    I am out of the office until July 2nd. You can reach me on my cell phone in case of emergencies.
  11. Select a start time.
  12. Select a stop time.
  13. Click Create to save the autoresponder.
